Election dates 2026: The ECI has unveiled the schedule for assembly elections in four states and a Union Territory, affecting over 17 crore voters.

Also in Maharashtra, Rahuri assembly segment in Ahilyanagar will see a bypoll on the same date, necessitated by the death of BJP MLA Shivaji Kardile

Voting in Goa, Karnataka, Nagaland and Tripura will take place on April 9, while Gujarat and Maharashtra will vote on April 23.

Election dates 2026: Counting of votes for all the four states and the Union Territory will be held on the same day, May 4, 2026. 

The counting of votes for the West Bengal assembly elections 2026 will take place on May 4, along with that of Assam, Kerala, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu.

The dates were announced by ECI on Sunday, March 15. The results of Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, West Bengal and Puducherry will be announced together on May 4.
